Challenge: Measure translucence of melamine fluid and compare it to the reference.
Solution: NI CVS system, colour firewire camera, LED backlighting and LabView was used to produce a vision-based solution.
Result: Glass container filled with melamine fluid is inserted into aperture. Micro switch triggers the measurement. Curent RGB sample components are displayed and compared against reference. New reference is set by pressing the reference button. Device is freely upgradable with TCP/IP connectivity, report generation etc. Manual, subjective and time consuming measurement approach was replaced with instant and precise measurement.
